I've been uncertain of age on this buck since I shot him. He is 14" wide with 4.25" bases. Was this a young deer that would potentially be a monster or a mature deer?
Hard to say without live body pics. Looking at what you have I would guess about 4 on age and about 120 on score. Wouldn't call him young or mature, I'd call him middle aged.
You never know what a buck could be once you kill them but to answer your question most bucks, not all hit their prime at about 6 years old as far as whitetails go.

Hard to say on age with no live body pictures. I say about 115 for score. Face looks young to me. I’d guess 3.5-4.5 years old. Do you have pictures of his teeth? I wouldn’t beat your self up to bad on taking him this year! Cool looking rack! Congrats!
Thanks guys! Didn't get any other pics. Did a european mount on him and was just curious about his age after the fact. Shot him out of my truck with my 8 month old with me.

Congrats on a fine buck. I see more 4 yr old in those pics than 3, but I could see him being either. When was he killed? Take a photo or two of the upper jaws when you get him back and it will help on aging guesses.
Thanks! He was killed November 11th. I already got him back. I'll get some pics when I get off work in the morning. Here is a couple pics of the mount.

That's a great buck, J.W.! Congrats on killing a nice one. It's difficult to tell the age of the buck without some pics of the body or a jawbone, and even then it's not an exact science beyond 2.5 years old. I would agree with the guys that said he was 3.5, but he could have been older. With 14" spread as a reference I'd guess him around 110", but if you'd like to know for sure measure a main beam and one of the back tines and I bet these guys could give you a much more accurate measurement. If G2s are 9", mainbeams 20", and bases 4" I would say 110-114".
