And why not? Very simple, it took helluva a lot longer to make a pot of beans than it took to make the chili. If ol cookie could have stretched his pot of chili by adding beans he dang sure would have.

Chili is like religion and politics! Texans take their chili seriously. I just say chili is chili and beans are beans. I love'em both but they should not mix!
