I have some vacuum sealed deer sausage (50/50 mix) that’s been in freezer for about 14 months. Still good? How long will it be fresh?

not sure how long but I ate some that was over 2 years old that vacuum packed was still good

If in deep freeze, yes. Might be freezer burn if in regular. Cook and taste it.

I've had stuff in the freezer for 4-5 years that still was fine.

Will probably be fine but venison starts loosing taste after 8 months IIRC.

It will still be good, as long as it still smells good when it thawed out and after its cooked.

Meat really doesn’t expire in the freezer. Mastodon have been recovered from glaciers that are still edible.

My brothers and I get together most every Sunday and cook, we found a couple quart bags of venison steak and a gallon bag of chunked for sausage meat that was 3 years old. We fried the steak and I made ground meat from the other, all was good, all just in zip lock bags.

Don't go by smell. Cook and taste it. Some idiots, I mean folks think deer is bad going by smell when cooking. Game doesn't smell good since they are used to farm raised beef when cooking.

Sausage with preservatives in it more than likely vacuum packed and frozen 14 months is nothing.

This morning I ate some venison breakfast sausage that was just in those little plastic one pound bags that meat processors use. It was 2 years old and was just now starting to get a hint of freezer burn on it. So I would think a vac pack could keep twice that long.
