Finally got to hunt my new blind near Carthage. This was the biggest clearing I had to choose from in the woods and only 50 yards from blind to feeder so I was worried the blind might be too close. Deer and hogs never seem to notice it. I have some other time lapse of deer walking around it within a couple feet of the windows paying no attention to it. Raccoons try to get into it even while I am inside yelling at them to go away. The main purpose is for night hog hunting rather than Deer hunting as well as a base camp for public land hunting a county or two away. I have a Deer lease in Young county for the more serious Deer hunting, but I did take advantage of muzzleloader season for a doe the other morning. Those plotwatchers are really neat. I have it on the deer carcass now. Clicking on the big thumbnail pictures may or may not work for the videos. It was a lot of work making this 50 year old camper safe to tow home, restoring it, adapting it for combination off the grid camping and hunting, towing it to East Texas in a high winds thunderstorm without falling apart, then having to rebuild a washed out bridge to get it across a creek to set up where I am hunting. Took a few months from start to end, but it was worth it. I would call my "retirement stand" project a great success.

For East Texas that is a target rich environment, nice place to shoot a hog at night.
You need to rig up a bell or something to ring in the trailer when the kill light comes on.

Already done. I used a Chamberlain driveway sensor. The receiver is hardwired into the battery/solar system and mounted over the shooting bench. There is a separate smaller clearing through the trees on the other side of the camper that I moved the pig pipe to with a separate sensor. Plywood on the walls has been stained since this picture and looks much nicer, not that it really matters.

Still left to do. I hauled in a stack of cylinder blocks and landscape stones so I can jack the camper well up off the ground and level, then I will take those new white wheels and tires off and put the old rusty ones back on.

With the bed folded out. It also has a nice office chair not pictured for when the bed is put up.

This weekend I put an antenna up a tree for the 12 volt TV and got 19 Channels out of Shreveport, not to mention the roku with 3 TB of downloaded movies, shows, and music on a portable hard drive.

Very, very nice. I assume you could use the same kinda sensor in case anybody came snooping around your...still. bolt

That is a really nice setup. Put it on VRBO and you can make a little side money.

There are two switches for that. Mostly just for the fun of it because I had several broken or missing running lights causing water damage and needed to do something with them to fix the problem anyway. I replaced them with cheap green led lights from China. With the Sasquatch switch I can light up the entire perimeter to see any approaching Revenuers or Sasquatches. If I hit the Bunny Burners it lights up the world and will blind them. banana

Might should just keep the rims and tires at the house, make it harder for your camp to not be "disappeared"

Impressive setup you have there.
I have paid to sleep in places that didn't have that much ambiance.

Pretty cool. I think once they get used to it the deer don't care.

2 weeks ago my dad was at our place hunting had just gotten back and made a pot of coffee then walked outside and there were 2 deer standing in the camp yard between our shop building outhouse and cattle pens.

Some sort of cheap Ramen noodle type stuff with some smoked vienna sausages thrown in. I stocked the cabinets with lots of long expiration dated non perishable food, snacks, and canned goods. Bottled water. A variety of non carbonated drinks that wont bust from freezing or hot days. Extra 7gal jugs of water, and extra 20lb propane bottles. I can make several multi day trips before I would need to restock anything. It is set up so if I want, I can literally leave home with nothing more than my rifle because I have everything else I need in the stand.

700 Classic 300wby. I was not really hunting the day that picture was taken and the 300 would have been a bit overkill for a 50 yard shot, but I like to have some kind of rifle with me just in case. It was during a set up day with lots of work getting the stand to where it is now, chainsaw work around the stand, filling the feeder, etc. so I did not expect to see anything. The first real hunt was opening weekend of muzzleloader season with a smokeless Savage 10MLII. I'll probably be using that one for most of my pig hunting there too.

That is very nice. I have often thought of building a 8’x8’ box blind. Big enough to sleep in. But I think your set up is even better and a lot more comfortable.
