.284 150gr spitzer Midway blem. I am thinking Gameking? Cutaway pic is a little rough, I just put it in the vise and filed it off.

I don't think its a Gameking, they don't have cannelures. This bullet has a thick jacket.

The ones loaded in factory ammo do have it, blems or over runs are often ones made for factory ammo, but it could be one of several different bullets

Is it exactly 150 grains? I'd lean to a Hornady Interlock, since they have a lot of Hornady blems, but it's a 154 grain. Did Sierra make a .284", 150 grain Pro-Hunter? The Game king has a boat tail.

Doesn’t the interlock have an interlocking ring?

I am inclined to agree with Chad, but if it is a 150 grain for sure, the only exposed lead tip 150 grain bullet w/ cannelure that i see is a winchester power point. But it looks more like the hornady to me.

It's why I suspected its not a Gameking.

My guess is a Speer Hot Cor made for Federal Blue box ammo.

Weighed 3 of them, all right at 149.5 gr on a balance scale. Haven't thought of Speer, that would be a good bullet I think for deer and pigs. Only thing I have shot so far was a buck in the neck (DRT) so I didn't recover the bullet. Need to work on my load a bit before next season but it shoots dead on about 2moa at 100yds so going to finish off these last few rounds. Model 70 FW 7x57.

Maybe I'll get a shot at a pig this weekend.

Speer would make sense. I thought it could be a Hot Core bullet, but I saw they didn't make a 150 grain. If they offer it in factory ammo, then that's it. It has the same look as the 160 grain Hot Core I load as a sub (minus the cannelure).

Looks like a Remington to me . Midway sold a lot of Remington bullets as blems in the blue box .

Lung shot a large yote at 75 yds. He made it 25 yds and across a little creek before he died so I didnt get pics or to see the exit but judging by the blood and lung piece trail it must have expanded pretty quick.

Shot a doe at 50 yds faciing me square in the chest. Chest cavity and liver was a mess, found a large petal looking piece in hide on side of her back leg, few other bits but no base. Might have been in the guts, I didnt look that hard.

Pushing these with 45 gr IMR4350 so not all that fast, going to play with the load and get my groups down and use it next year. Rifle has less than 20 rds total down the pipe so hasnt even been broke in yet.

There’s no way you actually killed anything with a non-bonded, flat base, cup-and-core bullet. Everyone knows those aren’t accurate enough, and if you do happen to hit a critter, they’ll bounce off. roflmao

I know, right? The 1st 7x57 I owned killed a lot of stuff with 140gr Corelokts. Seems like cup and core at 7x57 velocities is a very good combo. If for some reason these don't work out I have a bunch of 162gr SST's I can try out next.

I have yet to use any “premium” bullets, and I’ve killed a lot of critters.
