Friday in Stephenville I got Federal dove loads for $1.00 per box

just got back from wallyworld..all they have discounted is archeray stuff..cossbow bolts,broadheads..but not discounted enough..they have 50lbs rice bran for 5 bucks..down from 8 bucks..monitoring

Couple years ago I got a few nice pairs of cold weather hunting gloves from academy for like 3 bucks a pair they were about 80% off. Will keep checking academy sporadically.

I've been picking up lightly used Sitka Gear clothing on various hunting classifieds. Great gear but too expensive to buy new. Now I'm ready for my elk trip to the Oregon coast this fall.

Midway USA has some good clearance sales going on right now too.

My local Academy has 40# bags of deer corn for $5.98, but most of the camo clothing wasn't marked down at all. Walmart is selling 35# bags of deer corn for $6.98 but has all their clothing marked down.

Even though the Academy bags are 10 pounds smaller, that price is slightly cheaper per pound than what I've been paying for 50# bags at HEB. And 40# bags are a lot lighter for an old fart like to lift and dump into a feeder.

You just have to keep checking back at the all the usual places. As for corn, I divide the cost by the total weight of a bag to get the cost per pound.

Got a flyer in the mail today with ads for an End of Season Sale that starts tomorrow at Bass Pro.

Just bought a 15ft 2 man padded ladder stand for $64 At walmart in Wichita Falls.

Bought a couple more two-mam ladder stands at Academy for $48. Climbing sticks were $14. They've marked them back up, though. Although treestands are still 30% off.

Before Christmas somebody on TBH posted a discount code for the scentlock factory store for 65% off. I bought $500 worth of (retail tags prices still on the items) stuff off their clearance store for $100. Wish I would have got $2.000 worth. Wasn't meant to get out to the public but they honored it for everyone that ordered that weekend. I am not sure I buy into the scentlock thing or not, but the quality of the stuff is first class. I would have camo for the rest of my life.

I just got back from my local Academy and the nomad, under armor and Browning hunting clothes are 50% off. The in house Magellan brands were still full price.

Our academy had hang on stands for $30 and two person ladder stands for $60. It is a hot deal until 2/2.

Academy has the magellan mag 2 breathable waders on sale for $40; regular $120 I believe. Great for teal and early season duck hunts.
