Me and a couple other guys took out some new thermals and got into some bobcats this last weekend. All together there's been over 20 bobcats shot off the ranch in a week's time. Hoping to see a resurgence of the quail population next year.

Gonna take more then killing bobcats to help the quail. Coons eat the eggs predatory birds eat the quail and then drought and fire ants play a big part.

I might of considered entering the west texas big bobcat hunt and tried winning the side pot for most cats if I was aware there were that many in the area.

Thought about it, but they don't allow thermals.

You can kill them with a light as well. Thermal is fun and probably more effective but night hunting cats with a light is pretty productive.

yessir. if everyone would do their due diligence as far as varmint control there wouldn't be half the problem
that there is now. i've also had several neighbors in the past that wouldn't even consider treating for fire ants in
even the smallest way. nothing can be done about raptors, but if you leave fencerows and brushpiles for the
gamebirds to hide in, the hawks and such won't take such a toll
