I have been thinking about driving up to Arkansas or Kansas during the light goose conservation season to find birds in a field and knock on doors for permission to hunt. I have never been up there, so I am wondering if that is even a feasible idea? Would I be wasting my time, or are there enough people up there willing to let a stranger ambush some geese that are feeding on their field? Would I be more successful pulling my airboat up there and hunting the rivers? I have called some guides, but they are looking for groups to book a trip. I have been hunting alone since my hunting partner went to the light, so that is why I was thinking about looking for birds and knocking on doors instead of trying to find a guide. What do you guys think?

Worth a shot at least once....if it doesn't pan out then you know not to try it again....if it does pan out then you may also develop future hunting properties/opportunities....

That is kind of what I was thinking SnakeWrangler. It would suck to make the 8 hour drive to Akansas only to strike out, but great rewards do not come without some risk.

Let me save you a bunch of money and time. There was a really poor hatch this year... Don’t go, this is NOT the year. I actually feel sorry for the spring snow guides, they will be hating life.
