These two pix sum up my season..this happened in multiple occasions..I stake them down with tee posts..but when you have 800 lb cows and 1200 lb bulls..it's no match. Lesson learned..I will have best feeder pens next year

Sucks. Knock on wood but our one unfenced feeder, cows only check it out once a week. Guess the critters beat them to the corn so they don't mess with it.

I’ve hunted around cows, goats, sheep, donkeys and horses with horses being the worst. I take that back, hunted a place in rock springs that had elk on it and they tore up every feeder we had.

Pens work but they are a pain to to put up. I’ve been on places were rancher wouldn’t let ya put up pens. Was afraid his skinny cows he needed to feed would get hung up.

Cows are a pain.

Thanks, Billy

I found that if you drive the tee posts in parallel to the legs and hose clamp them all the way up, it takes a mack truck to knock em down. But yeah, pens work too

Also it's a safety issue.
You drive those T posts where they are sticking up you risk becoming impaled if you should fall off a ladder or your tailgate filling the feeder.....It's happened before!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

We had hang'em high and home made winch up feeders with cattle all over, never had a problem, the hogs don't seem to bother them either.

Put those feeders between trees and tie them off. Run strong wire from top of feeder in 3 directions. That will keep it up.

Your either not putting the post in deep enough or not wiring the legs to the post well enough or both.
