What is done differently to qualify them for exportable? Thanks Hi Raypo Because US Fish and Wildlife do not allow the importation of Lions from South Africa into the US we have the option of a Non-Exportable. The only difference is the CITES export permit fees, should the hunter decide he does not want to export the trophy there will be no need to apply for the CITES export permit, thus saving $1500.00

Hi Raypo No, if you are from the US, living in the US and only the US you can not import a Lion from South Africa into the US. You can import Lion into the US if they are from, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania. Those hunts usually sell for around $65000.00 to $100'000.00 and it is a 14 to 21 day hunt. There are three countries that do not allow the importation of Lion, those are. USA Australia France Now if you are from any other part of the world you do not have an importation problem at all. So lets say you were from the US and you had a place in Canada, you can hunt the Lion and export it to Canada. I hope the explanation helps. Please feel free to ask any questions, I'll try to answer as best I can.
