How are the ringneck ducks and widgeon for table fare? First time shooting either.
Wigeon good, ringnecks... well, a dog gotta eat.
Biggest pain is cleaning them. Skin won't separate from the breast meat worth a darn. If I end up with some I usually pick all the feathers off the breast then cut it out with the skin on.

Widgeon is really good, in my opinion. Ringnecks are not good, so I usually make them into duck jerky. Just google a recipe. As said, it’s not easy to separate the skin from the breast. I usually cut them down the breast bone with the skin on. When I get to the bottom of the breast, I cut that, then pull the breast to the side and slice the breast away from the skin that way. Usually gets all of it.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting.......holy kaka.....What a Ride!
They fun to shoot, sometimes faster than teal, wind is not a factor for them, they just come in as they please. When u shoot at a big group, they usually come by one more time, they so dumb
Ha ha, nice! And you should! You shot those ringers, now you got to eat them. Its part of the duck hunting adventure! I got to warn you tho, ringer burps in the morning not good.
Just saw a Delta Waterfowl video, they are putting tracking devices in ringers so they track where they go
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE
