Just saw where a guy took a jar of peanut butter, screwed/nailed the jar cap to a mesquite tree, took a box cutter and cut off the bottom of the jar, then screwed the jar back onto the cap. He swears it pulls deer in from quite a distance because of the strong smell of the peanut butter. I'm gonna try it, set a game cam in front of it, and see how or if it works! I'd be willing to bet that the raccoons will be hitting it first, and frequently, but I'm really curious to see what happens.

Tried it once, long ago. Lots of coons hitting it. Cleaned it out before the first weekend was done.

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

Yep.

Only try dollar store peanut butter. The coins will get it

I tried this years ago. Actually got a few nice bucks on camera before the cows found it. Then they tore the jar off the tree lol.

Some of the guys on our lease use peanut flavored protein pellets that are drawing them in well.

Punch a hole in the jar lid so a piece of rope will fit through it. Slide one end of the 3' rope/para cord through the hole and tie a knot so the rope doesn't pull through and screw the jar back on the lid.
Tie the rope and jar up high on a wispy limb that won't support a coon and that should deter them for a while.
Won't cost you anything but a jar of peanut butter to give it a try!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Used tampons work the best.

The conversation asking for that must have been interesting.

Try alfalfa hay. It's deer crack this time of year.
