A few of mine for next season though not quite done with the current season:
- Increase size of feeder pens from 5 panels to 10. - put corn feeders and protein in same pens, not separate - no more unpenned feeders, hogs coming onto property do too much pasture damage and keep deer away while out there - prioritize feeder locations to 2-3 Max for size of property - set feeder times to later in mornings, 7:00-7:15AM instead of 6:45AM to bring more deer movement into shooting hours. Same with late afternoon throws, 4:30 instead of 5:00PM. - limit free choice protein feeding during deer season, deer will eat all they can get every night if it's out - plant minimum of 2-3 acre plots of oats instead of Evolved Habitar"s beans, peas, triticale, radish and daikon mix. The racehorse oats come in much better. - put in more hunting earlier in season during archery and early rifle seasons. Deer movement is usually much better early season in SW Young county. - continue to utilize rattling early season, has been effective multiple times for me during rut. - buy a new pair of warmer boots - always use handwarmers with gloves on days 45 degrees or colder for highs and always on morning hunts under 35 degrees. - hunt some between 10:00 - 1:00 PM, especially when full moon nights.
Sure these are tip of iceberg but what are some of yours??? My goal is to drive some of my nice buck sightings from night to daylight...

Maybe replace a feeder and upgrade another. Spend a lot more time varmint hunting. Hoping to work less at the lease and have more fun this year, although I do like some of the work.

Start researching more public land hunts in more states. Apply everywhere I can afford. After 23 years, draw a Pauns deer tag. Better shape, have the surgeon look at that bad knee and ankle. Spend more time hunting with friends and family.
Get off my [censored] and hunt harder!

After 23 years, draw a Pauns deer tag. Good luck, man. That’ll be worth the wait.

Don't shoot any deer that is too big to load. Nice problem to have, maybe invest in a game hoist?

For 2019 I’m going to :
Take a good look at my hunting budget and re-allocate how/ where I spend my money. IE: instead of two or three lower percentage hunts out of state consolidate that into one package hunt with better kill odds.
Stay close to home for the 2019 deer season and hunt whitetails. Gonna get more active into bow hunting them. Maybe do a package hunt and get another one for the wall. This is my plan unless I get a landowner tag for mule deer in Colorado or New Mexico.
Have a great hunt in Africa and enjoy that trip to the fullest.
Actually dove and duck hunt in 2019. Duck isn’t over but we have no birds in my area at the moment.
Maybe kill a wall-hanger axis or do a Nilgai hunt. Wouldn’t be opposed to either

DQ, definitely increase the size of your feeder pens, as you mentioned.
As to the protein feeder, have you considered the timed protein feeders with troughs? I was skeptical of them at first, but they work pretty well.

I am going to add another feed pen with corn and free choice protein feeder to a blind that has one pen with both feeders now, plus a food plot. I have one other blind with the food plot and two feed pens with two feeders in each pen, this setup has worked very well the last 2 yrs now. Will continue to feed free choice protein 24/7/365( have for over 6 yrs now) to draw in bucks and hold bucks. The amount of bucks late season is crazy numbers for my small place last year and right now again. I have kicked around going to one blind in the center of my place with 3 feed pens, 3 corn and 3 protein feeders so I can hunt any wind or sun. That is still up in the air right now. I am going to add a feed pen at my bowblind with a protein feeder only so I can concentrate on killing one buck next October. That blind is in a travel corridor and I know he uses that blind/road corn from TC pics. I am getting back on my West Texas mule deer lease in 2019. I am thinking about putting in for Kansas Mule Deer again after not applying the last 2 yrs. I contacted an Alberta Outfitter I have hunted with in the past about a November mule deer hunt also. It has been 11 yrs since I went to Alberta and was a little sticker shock on the price of a mule deer hunt there now.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Good thread QDog. Good call on your part enlarging your pens. I have just a couple.
Shoot more Yotes. Make sure during this winter time the Protein Feeder stays full for the deer. Like TT85 post on allocation of hunting funds. Gonna get my hands on another 160 acre place which will give me more access and save me $$. Work the list of stuff I have made notes in my phone on for the lease. Consider a lift kit for my 4 wheeler. Enjoy more time in the great outdoors !

Don't shoot any deer that is too big to load. Nice problem to have, maybe invest in a game hoist? See I followed my New Years Resolution yesterday and shot this 2 year old Axis instead of one of the bigger ones that he was with because I figured this one was as big as I could load.

I told my Fiance back in August that I wasn't going to buy any more guns this year...I had a bunch of Cabelas points and went out and got a new savage model 12 in November. Got home and she said "I thought you weren't going to buy any new guns!?" I said, "But, but I didn't really BUY this one!" LOL. It's now 2019, so I am free to start shopping again!

-Count my money that I'm not spending this year for the privilege of filling feeders, fixing feeders, trapping raccoons, and otherwise busting my hump so someone else's spoied, lazy spawn can come kill and mame all kinds of deer. -Sell my little place and find one bigger with txtrophy85's help. -Kill a respectable Pronghorn.

I am going to shoot a whitetail this year. Between the wife and the kids and a son-in-law, I haven't shot a whitetail in years. Although I have given the axis a beating.

Quit becoming obsessive over Horns. They are just Horns. Enjoy hunting and try to remember the big picture even when I have buck fever.

Goals maybe more than resolutions:
I want to be more mobile and hunt more trees.i'll probably hunt lock-ons more and hopefully try a tree saddle.
Hunt Texas public land a lot more, mainly help my kids find deer.
Hunt a lot, but not hunt a place more than twice a week. I hope to hunt in 7-10 counties in TN, one in Ohio, and maybe three or four in Texas.
Draw elk tag for Tetons in Wyoming?
