I’ve been saving for a rimfire suppressor and finally have the money put back for it and the stamp. Problem is, just not sure why I need it. I shoot .22 matches monthly and run several hundred .22 rounds and per month and the sound nor the recoil bother me. Is there something I’m missing?

For what it’s worth I have a .30 cal can in the safe and another a few months out. Absolutely love shooting suppressed with those, so I do get it. Just not sure I “get it” in the rimfire.

Opinions? Am I overlooking something?

If you want to get together at Lubbock Shooting Complex some time and shoot mine, let me know. I have a Buckmark and a 10/22 that are both suppressed.

.22 suppressors are best of all. Really.

Because a Browning Buckmark or Ruger 22/45 suppressed is just flat out fun!

I also run a Ruger Charger that I SBR'ed and put a can on and it probably the best thing for shooting squirrels and rabbits ever made.

I have .22 cal, 30 cal, 50 cal, and 45 cal suppressors. My favorite one to shoot is the suppressed .22 bolt action using subsonic ammo. Literally all you hear is the firing pin and then the target being hit. You hear a little noise if you are on the "business" side of the suppressor. You could be sitting right next to me and not realize I shot a rifle. Working the bolt is louder. It's that quiet. I take it to the stand with me a shoot trash pandas. Doesn't mess up my deer hunt.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

My 10/22 shoots much better with the Sparrow on it. No longer picky about ammo either.

Ugh.. Fine. I’ll get one. laugh

Which do you have? I’ve been looking at the Dead Air Mask and the Thunder Beast Takedown 22. Will be shooting on 1911 style, bolt action and 10/22.

@QuitShootingYoungBucks, thank you for the offer. I may take you up on it before picking one.

get one you "can" (ha, ha) clean easy !!!

Yes, I agree, if you have a place to shoot alone it would be great. If you only shoot around other shooters (match) you really dont need one unless all others are suppressed. confused2

There are a ton of fun, just make sure you get one that has no aluminum in it.

I have a silencerco Spectre II and it’s solid. I admit I’ve never shot anything else.

Mine is a Spectre II. I agree that you should go for Stainless Steel internals so it is easier to clean. Do the silicone oil treatment before you ever shoot through it.

I got a Spectre II also. Love my .22 can!

Anybody got a good suggestion for a clean burning subsonic round?
