Had a friend that hunted up there for years. Their place had some giant hogs and very few deer. I'm sure they were around. Knox county produces some big bucks. Closer to the Brazos or Wichita the better.

This place is close to the brazos river, the topography looks like pretty rough country!

Our place is south of Goree in northern Haskell County. We have plenty of deer, turkey, dove, quail (yep, quail) and too many pigs. There is no reason Goree wouldn't have deer.

This is your TPWD wildlife biologist. You should contact him.

You're in good deer country then. Those badlands produce some whoppers.

If you are North of town ON the Brazos River that is decent deer country, also if you are Northeast of town there is some decent county. Good luck.

I hunted north of goree for 7 years. Good deer country for sure. We shot several mature bucks and a lot of pigs. Decent sized bodies on those deer too. One buck weighed 220lbs and had a doe that went 180lbs. The neighbor to our north put up a high fence the year after we left. I would think everything south of that high fence is ruined hunting wise. It blocked the deers natural runway back to the brazos... It should be illegal what those guys did with that fence...
