Finally got the green light on some more private waters.

Problem is now I think I have too many options.

4 acre lake - deep, zero cover with the exception of maybe 3 or 4 cedar trees

1 acre pond - moderately deep, tucked way back in the woods, tons of cover

4 or 5 different pot holes that are around 1/2 acre in size, mostly pretty shallow, some cover around all of them

Haven't looked at them this year, but I've seen ducks on all of them in the past.

Which one would you hunt?

This year I wouldn't count on anything until you've scouted.

I’d scout all of them Saturday instead of hunting, then hammer them Sunday.

I may try to swing by there tomorrow evening if I can get back home before dark. It's only about a mile from the house...but unfortunately I'm stuck at work in Dallas. Not that ducks being there in the evening means much for Saturday morning. My BIL would get his panties in a wad if I hunted it Sunday without him (church obligations keep him from hunting on Sundays). Probably just hit the 4 acre pond blind Saturday morning and then hunt my public flooded timber hole Sunday morning since it looks like we're going to hit 490' on my home lake. That way no one gets their feelings hurt.

Scouting is a must this year it seems. I'd hunt the potholes so if you get skunked or they land on another tank you can at least jump em.
