Passed on a nice buck that I may be sorry I did. Still got a few more weeks to go.

Shot a doe couple weeks ago. Will probably get another one or two. Dad shot our trophy for the year, still looking for a few no brow deer to show up and need some more does.

Freezers are pretty much full, but I'm waiting on a sample of jalapeno-cheddar link and reg summer sausage from Hamilton. If I like the products I'll take them a deer or two in January.

2 doe whitetail in the freezer and a nice, young 12 pt in the freezer as well as a fallow doe. Still have two more tags to finish out then I can start picking up a couple or three axis does.

I dropped a spike opening weekend, haven't seen another deer during hunting hours!
Seen plenty on the way out at night...

One doe down this morning, one more to go

I shot a big doe this morning for the land owner, I will be back tomorrow afternoon with my daughter to get her the buck she has waiting for if we have luck on our side!

Son shot 2 does, so meat in the freezer. I haven't shot a deer since he started 5 years ago... I keep going but nothing I have wanted has come by yet

Been slow up at the farm in Rolling Plains.......Lot of nice bucks and many doe on cameras in aug-oct...............then poof................Seen a few nice young bucks -no doe........... No deer taken yet..............Hoping they will come to our wheat the next few weeks ???

Still have all my tags and meat in the freezer, saw a very nice buck last 5 minutes of shooting hours opening weekend and didn't have a good shot. He went nocturnal, saw him on cams many times around midnight. Started seeing him on cams mid day a couple days ago so plan to hunt him end of season and/or ML season.

I shot a management buck 10 min into the season on opening day on a invite hunt. Not exciting not one I would count.


I zero’d in two out of state hunts and in west Texas.

My goal is to shank a axis or whitetail with my bow before season ends.

If that fails ill have to wait until July until I do some hunting


Kids have kept the freezer full so we arnt in a meat crisis but could use another deer at least.

I dropped my 18 YO daughter off at 2:30 to hunt on her own for the first time, she knows the buck we are targeting and also knows this time of year there could be a good deer come out we haven’t seen before. She has a lot of experience and has taken three mature deer and a couple of culls in the years past, but this is the first time she felt comfortable hunting on her own, i will post pictures on a separate thread if she connects on something.

1 in the freezer and 2 in the woods on back laughing still. First year that I have 2 consecutive misses with a Bow.

Just the 10 pointer my son shot opening weekend at our place. Between work and baseball I only got to sit twice during the rut. The one I was after didn't make an appearance except on the days I was at work! Just had this new one show up missing his entire right side! Other than that I've let a few family members shoot a couple of doe.

Shot a spike about a week ago, missed out on a big one that got spooked by birds and zipped by my blind. Damned birds

I passed up two very nice bucks in November. Have shot a spike and a doe. Not sure Ill hunt again this season.
