I have a handgun stuck to 2 magnets just like that mounted to a wall and it is secure enough for what I need. Maybe a XD 45 with full mag is heavier, but I def wouldn't trust them to hold it bouncing across a pasture.

I have about the roughest property one could ride and it has yet to budge, plus it is just a Glock.

That would be a pretty good trick with the trigger guard on it.
