The bucks were really moving around and crossing into new territories so tempers flared. This younger droptine was way north of me along a drainage in a grassy flat checking does. He continued to follow the does in to where I was at.
This older buck obviously did not like him in his area.
What surprised me is that the much younger buck would even consider fighting with the older buck, but he did.
The younger buck surprisingly held his own for a brief few seconds but the older buck was to strong for him. The morning sun was so brilliant that morning and it had just popped over the horizon that it made it difficult to photograph at the angle it was at to them. I did not have time to adjust the camera and just went with the settings it was on.
