I am clearing an area for a food plot for next year and was wonder what might happen if I dumped some corn in a bed of prickly pears. The deer ignored it but this boar didn't seem to mind at all. There is an old saying "Happy as a pig in slop"....this pig seemed pretty happy...he spent three hours in there.

Anytime I want to get rid of cactus I do the same thing and the pigs always tear it up for me.

If you have a fish fry pour the used oil all over it. I have not done done that with a cactus but when we dump it on the ground they make a big crater eating the dirt.

I am like Sapper- we put out a new feeder in an area that had quite a bit of cactus and brush so we threw out
corn in that area and the hogs and other wildlife have cleaned that area up so much it makes a nice area for turkey strutting now.

Done the same with overgrown sunflowers around the deer stand.

Good stuff. I chop down a bed of cactus with a machete, took some time too. Now I will just pour some corn into the cactus bed. Thanks Shakie, cool pictures.
