I am new to bow hunting and today is the first time I really shot a lot. I was noticing that the arrows don't fly very straight. I know the arrows will have some flex in flight but it looked like it was turning a lot in flight. I took it to the bow shop after I bought it and they said everything was running correctly. Is there a problem or is this just typical? I know I am probably leaving something out for y'all to answer my question but hopefully you get the point.

There are several things that can cause that
Arrows not correct spine for the bow Center shot not exactly right for the bow Grip issue causing torque on bow Arrow not straight
What rest is on your bow?

NAP quick tune 360
It very possibly could be grip. The bow tech said the bow was tuned properly.

Try to "grip" the bo very loosely if at all. he pressure on the meaty pad of the thumb, pressure from the bow against the hand will hold it in place until the shot is sent. I use a very loose grip so the fingers bairly make contact with the front of the bow. Some shoot with a completely open grip of the hand on the bow.
Also follow through hold the bow out do not move it until the arrow is on the way or even until it hits the target the bow will rock forward in your hand. Move it while the arrow is still on the reat, in tht instent you effect the flight of the arrow.
If your grip on the bow is inconsistent it can cause some arrow flight differencedand will usually show up as horizontal grouping

Thank you for the advice I will pay attention to this next time I shoot. I was shooting better today than last time I shot. But I did notice the arrow flight to be "weird."

I have seen them come from :PRO" shops that the arrow looked like it was corkscrewing its way to the target. Frenchtune or paper tune are good ways to correct centershot issues

I will have to do some research. I will say that I trust the bow shop that I used, but I have no idea why. It is the only one in business around me so it is better than going to the academy. I have a feeling it was me. I am not experienced at all. Today was maybe the 50-100 arrow I have shot. I have read every thread on this forum and plan to spend some time on texasbowhunter.com this week. Is there somewhere else that would be a good place to learn this sport? I think I may have caught the bug today. Spent about 2 hours shooting and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I had only shot out to 25 yards until today and stretched out to 40 and that was a blast!
Edited to add that this is a dedicated Bow shop. Big O's archery

Big Os is a good shop. Know several people that use it. On form you can pick up some good tips from these videos.

Get yourself a cotton jersey glove, put it on the hand you grip the bow with, it will help a lot with torque. Forrest
