My buddy, Stupid Chad, and I got in one last hunt before he shipped out to Georgia. We saw hogs several times, but had trouble getting to them, in part due to cattle and the fact that we had trouble catching up with them while they were on the move. Eventually, we got on to a small group that Chad spotted with the SiOnyx Aurora Day/Night Camera. Our first approach was thwarted after the hogs went into the woods, but they came back out again later and we were able to make a good stalk on them only to have them backed by cattle. It took some maneuvering and the misfortune one misguided boar for us to finally get a safe shot...

Hopefully Chad will have hunting opportunities in Georgia. Meanwhile, this was a nice send-off. Good job, Keep After 'Em!

Like the footage from Chads camera, but prefer the look from your sight. Good job on getting him on a hog

Like the footage from Chads camera, but prefer the look from your sight. Good job on getting him on a hog I got to see the camera Chad was using (Sionyx Aurora) tonight and in full moon conditions I was very impressed. Moreso at the ability to maneuver quickly on stalks much like the purpose a PVS14 serves but this was different in that my eyes and brain connected well with the color imagery and for me it was less strain on the cognitive system over the course of the 10 hour hunt. It’s a neat tool to add to the bag to compliment the PVs14, digital riflescope and thermal gear. Digital has certainly come along way in the last 6 years, I’ve got to try and get together with DNS on a no moon or quarter moon night to make a fair overall judgement on that camera.
