Can't afford a thermal yet.
This will go on the pic rail hand guard of an LR-308. Hogs and coyotes are the animals. Red/white, or green/white. Rechargeable preferred.

The Coyote Light is the best I have used as a mounted rifle light. While the white will be the brightest it will spook the animals the most. I use red because I am calling them and expect them close but I have under good conditions made several shots between 300-400 yards my Coyote light still has original battery and I am making an educated guess it’s 7 years old. They are pricey but there is no question about the quality.

Check this one out. We have the red version and it works great. I have the quick mount and it does well on my 300wsm. We use it as a hand held also. https://www.longhorntactical.com/Orion-P...h30-startup.htm

Check here before you drop a lot of money elsewhere: LightmallsYou can get lights straight from china for dirt freaking cheap here. I have gotten three orders from them totaling 5 lights and they have all been good. Prior to one of my friends finding this website, I bought the EXACT same light from someplace in the US for around $100 instead of $16. Many of the retailers are getting their stuff from here and marking it up, so you can save major bucks by going right to the source. I have three of their HS802 lights, and they reach 200 yards pretty easily if you are looking through a good scope. I also have a couple of the C10 lights, and they put out a broader beam (versus a spot) and are good for in close, but dont reach as far. You can get red, green, and white LED modules for the HS802's and use the same flashlight body with all three colors. You have to wait a bit for them to get here, but all my orders arrived just fine, and I had zero problems. At their prices you can afford to try a couple of different models and see what you like, and if it doesnt work out no great loss!

Wicked Lights 403 Kill Light Scan Pro headlamp also nice...also by Wicked lights
It might not throw as far as the coyote light thoughI was interested in the coyote light but I can't find any specs on how many lumens it throws it has a great lens on it from the looks of it.

For the price my Orion H30 from Longhorn Tactical would be great for you. Not a 300 yd light but pretty close. The package deal is a good one.

Just ordered another H30 package from Longhorn Tactical today. They have 25% off today and the package has the led light, rechargeable battery and mounts for less than $100. Pretty cheap to try it out and I think for the price it is worth it. We have used it out to about 250 yds to shine hogs then get closer for the shot. My scope does not have illuminated reticle so I need a light that is bright enough to light up the hogs and my cross hairs, works great in that manner. The scope mount that clamps on is tight enough for the recoil of my 300wsm and holds the light securely during hunting and shooting. It comes with more secure mounts for rifle and scope mounting also.

Look at the Imarex OD light. It is incredibly bright focused beam. There are no dark spots in the lights.

Thought about photon night vision. ?
Much less than thermal. With an upgrade IR 200 to 300 yards no problem.
I used QD rings.

I used QD rings. I'd go this route before spending $100+ dollars on a kill light. Been down that road already...

Check out the OD optical illuminator light by Umarex. The larger one is unbelievable bright and tight. They have one with a gun mount too.
