To update y’all on previous post, I purchased a savage arms .270 combo today. Hopefully I can train and get good enough to go hunting by next fall! Thanks to those who helped me out on here

Good deal!

Now take it somewhere and have the scope mounted properly.

Good choice on the .270. That will definitely get the job done on just about everything you'd ever want to hunt. You have plenty of practice time before next season to get really good with it too. Congratulations on the new rifle.

I really like my Savage XP Series II. Now if a deer or hog will just walk out in front of me when I'm hunting with it.

Congratulations!

Step 1 ) buy first rifle

Step 2 ) practice and become familiar with it using a variety of factory ammo in various weights and bullet styles

Step 3 ) begin reloading

Step 4 ) teach a friend or family member what you learned in previous steps

Congrats Savage makes really accurate rifles and the 270 is a terrific hunting round. Ammo is available everywhere. Great combo for your first rifle.
