Appears to be Guajillo. Does it have very small thorns on the branches?

Agree with stx, very invasive. 2-1 diesel/remedy is what I use.

Then after it is dead, flame it on top of the stump.

Not really good browse at all IMO....low end value compared to other browse plants. It can have good protein values in the low 20% ranges and decent digestable protein, but I see very little utilization on my place.

Huisache aka cat claw, deer in Refugio would browse on it but that was what was mostly on the property. The small thorns resemble claws and will hook into whatever touches them. Nasty little suckers

Huisache and cat claw are different animals, I cant determine which I detest more. If you have ever been going through the brush and had a cat claw grab ahold of you, you wont soon forget.

Agree. Shape is right, leaf structure, thorns. OP can wait until it blooms next year and see if it has golden yellow flowers, many Acacia look similar.

Never saw Huisache/Weesatch in the time we owned property in Goldthwaite....but I guess anything can get carried in.
