You don't own acerage, do you?

F those hogs! Young old, male, female, close range, long range, kill em all! By any means necessary.

I doubt he does. Mom said 20 years ago when they came to our place, "don't kill the babies". Now at 72 and struggling to walk the place she loves because of rooting hogs she says, "please shoot them all". I try to line em up so I get a 2fer knowing the backboard hog probably won't get a clean kill not because I am a POS that doesn't have humanity but because I'm a land owner and am overrun. I kill mosquitoes, fireants, and rats too without concern. A hog is like a rat and tiller combined. Kill em all, any way you can, please.

For those worried if the hog was wounded from a bad shot, they're cannibals when its convenient his own will eat him let that sink in.

I agree with Redman8. Taking a shot at any animal that you are not proficient at (skill, condition, etc.) is just wrong. Pig or not, suffering is suffering.

Ethical rules do not apply to pigs, coons, porcupines, coyotes and cormorants. Only thing that applies is safety. These are not animals - they are actually demons disguised as animals. When you kill their corporeal manifestations it temporarily banishes them back to hell. OP - nice pics and better luck next time.

Sling it. Like someone said above, become a landowner and have your time and money ruined overnight- multiple times.
Pigs get no quarter with me. I lobbed a full mag out of a 22 pistol one time at a running group around 100 yards away. And I'd do it again...and again....and again...

This is comical. Chad is one of a handful of shooters on this forum I would encourage to lob a round at a target a mile away. Even better is the intended target was swine in this case.

500 yards would be impressive to me.

I hunted just south of there for 12 years and I can tell you that there are always opportunities for shots like that, or even longer ones if you've got the equipment and talent to get it done. I so wish I had been into the long range shooting back then like I am now. Biggest challenge in that country is finding a day when the wind isn't blowing 20+.

A shot from almost a mile away? Even if you were close pretty impressive.

Yesterday range trip. Cold bore (first round hit) 800 yards with my 308 PBR (parts build rifle) with my bulk 168 bthp ammo on 2 moa plate (16”). This isn’t even my high end rifle or my match grade ammo. So, what’s your “ethical” distance? Is 800 yards ethical on a deer? Maybe. Is it ethical on a pig, which is a non game animal? Heck yes it is. Your ethical distance may be totally different than my ethical distance.

Also, the round impacted on the right hand side of the plate. As I was about to send the round, you can hear the wind pick up some. I was holding .7 mils, and increased my hold to the left at 1 mil. The round still hit right of center. For a center hit I needed about 1.2 mil wind hold. But the original wind call would have been fine, but the additional hold was needed at the exact time of the shot.

I agree no animal should suffer but neither should my pastures. Some of these replies should be screened before posted. I personally like to place a can a tannerite on the ground and place some corn around it and wait for the pigs to eat the corn then shoot the tannerite. Take out about 5-10 at a time.

Pigs are not considered game animals for a reason. They destroy crops, natural vegetation etc. shooting a pig at 1600 yards and injuring it which causes the pig to suffer and die a slow death is not a bad thing. The day you own a farm or land your opinion will change. I can’t believe some of the opinions on here at times.
