Well my son graduated Tarleton State University yesterday and I have had a rifle in the works for awhile...Here is a list of parts.....
Grayboe Renegade stock
Mesa Precision Arms detachable bottom metal
Trigger Tech special trigger
Bartlein spiral fluted barrel 24" (chambered in 7mm-08AI)
SWFA 5-20x50 scope
Seekins Precision rings
Harris bipod
Curtis Custom Axiom action
I would like to give a special thank you to Jason (FiemanJG) for answering the countless questions without hesitation....Without him I would have never known even where to start...Thanks to Chad (ChadTRG42) for answering all the ammo questions I had....And of course thanks to Tony (triggertime) for being patient with me and getting it done in time for his graduation even though I got everything to him later than expected.....
Stock was done by myself...Started out as a regular black stock....I primed it with an oil base primer......I then had some oil based paint mixed up in TSU Purple and some in Tantalizing Teal (daughter picked it as one of her favorite colors) and had it put in spray cans....Sprayed 3 coats purple, splotched it with the teal using some crumpled up foil and then 5 coats lacquer to seal it up....Up next will be taking Jason's course and then lots of shooting before the rifle challenge lol....Hope y'all like it as much as he does....
