Looking at getting one to work/hunt out of. It would be used almost daily. I've always been a Polaris ranger fan, but have heard great things about the can am defenders. What about the textron brand?

I've been saving to pay cash for one but seems to be a slow process for me lol. Anyway I've settled on the kawasaki teryx4 its a 4 seater with a decent bed and a good blend between trail riding and utility for hunting.

Myself and several friends have ranger crews. I’ve had zero issues with mine and it works hard and drives great. Best thing to do is go look at all of them with an open mind and then decide. I went thinking I was going to buy one machine and ended up with a ranger. Good luck!

The majority of our lease has gone to Kawasawki Mule Pro. Heavy, but a work horse, smooth ride, and convertible bed

I am biased towards Yamaha but I have been around all the major brands. As long you stick to them, you will be fine. Just whatever fits your eye and most comfortable to you

Hard to go wrong with any of the major brands. All are good. Do look at warranties as they can vary widely. Mule Pro- FXT for me.

Canton has two of these inside the showroom that are new 2017s if I remember correctly. They are priced way cheaper than I was expecting.

I recently traded in my 2011 Mule for a Can Am Defender HD8. So far I am really liking the Can Am.

Only one I can find is Canton Powersports Connection and they aren't showing any 2017 Teryx4's online.

I recently traded in my 2011 Mule for a Can Am Defender HD8. So far I am really liking the Can Am. That's what I bought....it does everything I could ever want it to do. I've climbed hills I couldn't walk up in that thing. The HD8 has gobs of power and torque 58 mph with me in it and a 1/2 tank of gas

Just looked at their website and they’re not listed. They may have sold them. It was two months ago that I was in there and it was the only two they had. Now they’re showing 18s and 19s

I have a 2008 Kubota 900 UTV diesel. The thing is a tank and my kids have thrown everything plus the kitchen sink at it and it's still going strong. Pro's, it's a diesel, it's built like a tank and it's easy to work on. Downside, it's sloooooooowwwwww, loud and rides like a tank. I rode in a buddies Ranger a few weeks ago and it was really comfy. It also cruised up a couple of hills at our lease that bring my Kubota to a crawl.
Thanks, Rich

Now they’re showing 18s and 19s Gotcha, appreciate it. Even the 18s aren't as bad of a price as some of the others I've seen. I've found the Teryx4 LE in either digital camo or blue/black for 12,500 brand new.

I went with the Mule Pro FXT LE so I didnt have to worry about adding a roof or some LED headlights as it came with them to start with.

We tried them all, but with my wife's bad back the only seats that were comfortable for her was the Kawasaki Teryx. The real upright seats really pounded her the wrong way. We got a 2-seater because I wanted the sealed storage under the floor and the 600# dump bed for elk hunting. Whatever you do, definitely take it for a ride to check everything out first.

Mule Pro DXT (diesel)
I've been using it, almost daily for 14 months. I have not found its' limitations yet. I have not stuck it in the mud, I have not asked it to pull a load it cant do, I have not found the mountain it won't climb, with 4 men, packs, and coolers. This year I have recorded 7°F to 107°F and the Mule has not stumbled yet.

I think which one is best has to do with the individual and how they want it to be used. Do you want a play toy that will go 50 MPH ? Do you want something that will beat your buddy in a drag race to the top of the hill? Do you want something that is quieter than the others? Do you want something that just sips fuel? Do you want something that has the smoothest ride? Do you want something that has an engine that will last for many hours? Do you want something that you can leave sitting for 6 months and and will not start because of crappy gas or a diesel that doesn't have that problem. Do you want one that is built like a tank and will give you years of service but many not as fast or as quiet as others? Do you want one that has belts or one that doesn't. See, everyone has a different thought on what is best. But you are the one that is going to use it and that may be way different than how someone else does.

Don k said it well. We have a Kubota 900 diesel, and for work there probably isn’t anything better. But...rough ride, uncomfortable seating, loud, max speed of 27. Also very low maintenance for the 10 or 12 years we’ve had it. Steel hydraulic dump bed. I think of it as a serious commercial work machine, not a fun machine.
The grandkids all learned to drive in it. Only one tree suffered, but did survive.

agree, each will have slightly different high points they are looking for or desire with other things that are lower priority. I too have a Kubota RTV900 that does pretty much anything i need it to do and don't need to cruise at 40+ mph in 99% of where I go ... but would be nice to have the two rows of seating. But in doing a bit of research on the RTV1140, when set up with dual row seating, the bed is very small front to back and might not suit my needs like I was thinking.

We bought a 2018 Kubota 4 seater in June. They must have upgraded. It rides every bit as nice as the Ranger Crew we have and light years better than the 2007 Mule 4 seater we also have.
The Kubota is slower than the Ranger. The Kubota is also louder than the Ranger. For cruising around the ranch we don't notice the speed difference because we rarely go more than 20 mph anyway.
Depends on your use. The dump bed you can dump from the drivers seat on the Kubota is the cats meow.
I like the Kubota better because ours is a worker, but both are really great machines. Or honestly, the Mule is great also. Very few problems with any of them other than operator caused issues.

Everyone needs to drive the can am defender before they make a purchase.
I drove off-road almost every day in all types of terrain. The can am hits all the high points. I can’t think of any drawbacks to it.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
