Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Sorry you got hit, hope you catch the scum. Nothing much worse than getting up in your stand and start glassing and see a big blood stain in the middle of your food plot.

I bet when some details come out, then the ropes will start getting thrown over limbs, could be his prize horse, or a chihuahua , could be both and property damage as well, just hope Dave gets some satisfaction out of the ah if they are caught.

So I'll update on what I can, but leaving out location and names. Land owner came home a week ago to find a doe freshly killed in our wheat field. Head shot with a .22. Happened after lunch but before 3pm. Called the authorities who opted to leave it lay and setup cameras. Initial thoughts was it was a poacher that would return after dark to retrieve it. But they never came back so head was sent to TPWD lab to remove bullet and enter into their database. I also called our Special Texas Ranger from the Southwest Cattle Assoc to ask him to up the patrols on our road. When taking to him we found out that that a few nights earlier a neighbor had lost a couple of calves under the same circumstances. They are now working together on the case in the event it's not a coincidence. My theory is that we've got a kid with a .22 and no respect for life or other peoples property. Hopefully they get caught soon and dealt with.

It’s bad when somebody poaches wildlife. But, when someone starts shooting another mans cattle, you are threatening that mans livelihood. And that’s way beyond bad. Hope he’s caught soon.

Sounds like the beginning of what happened down in Leon County a few years back. Hopefully they can nip it in the bud before it gets as out of control as that one got.
