I would go 4.5 or maybe 5.5 just depending which side you are looking at.

I would say 6 or more. I know it depends a lot on their diet and what region of the state you hunt in. We shot a buck this year that we have 4 years of pictures of and believe him to be 5 years old. We are low fence in sand country south texas and throw corn year round and free choice protein year round. Our buck this year has somewhat less wear than that. We are mailing the teeth off to have them scientifically aged as soon as I get them out of the nasty stinking jaw. I got to skin a head that had been sitting for 3 weeks this weekend... nasty!

Bobo, how do you cut them out? I was going to boil and they usually just fall out but wanted to make sure it would be ok to boil them.

I just use a knife, and cut Down each side as deep as I can. Then gently pull out. They come out pretty easy.
I don’t see how boiling would hurt

4.5 possibly 5.5, the back molar on the left side has enough wear to call it 5.5 where I hunt. East Texas, I don't know...

I'm just doing this for fun. All the age this photos are live deer, this is a change of pace. And it's fun to see why prime think what they do on teeth.

It was just a doe. I've got to age all my deer, so getting multiple opinions is just handy.

4.5 ...with prejudices on wear..much wear for 4.5 . In reality I don't know as seems our deer are easier for a class. If ya get a more scientific number let us know.

this deer is most likely 4.5 this deer has a small chance of being 5.5 and ZERO chance of being 6.5+

The teeth indicate a classic 5.5 year old deer. Fourth tooth isn't dished out, thus eliminating anything 6.5 or older. Dentine is wider than the enamel on lingual crests of all 3 molars, indicating no less than 5.5. The incisors won't really do you much good unless you're in an area with a known-age reference set.
