I am new to muzzleloaders. I wanted to buy one but I only want to own ONE so I want to get the best to begin with. I heard that there is a company out of Wyoming or something like that that builds a pretty incredible muzzleloader that will shoot 4 or 500 yards accurately. Does anyone know anything about this? I don’t have a clue who the manufacturer is or anything about them.

The Best of the West also make a long range muzzleloader. No experience with it or the GunWerks one.

I am sure they can be sighted in for that range , but it is black powder, the trajectory for the round is going to crazy.I have shot my 45.70 black powder at ranges from 600 to 1,000 yards. You can shoot, put the gun down and drink a coke waiting on the impact....lol

just my 2cents .... thar be a big differance between flint, side-lock, & inline. all loaded down barrel, inline uses the 209 primers due ta type powder. inlines tis like shooting modern rifle with out caseing.. Big differance in d powder.

I have a night muzzleloader that I feel comfortable shooting to 300yards. It cost about 1,000. I think if you want 4-500 yards you have to spend 5-10K.

I have the Gunwerks Muzzleloader and a colleague at work has the Ultimate Firearms muzzleloader that kmon1 posted the link to. Correct, Best of the West also makes one. There may be a few other companies that I am not aware of. I can't comment on which is the best. They all have little differences that you'll either like or not like. Pricing is all over the place. Ultimate is the best buy for the money most likely. I think my colleague was out the door for around $4-5,000. This is a tad bit cheaper than Best of the West who starts at $5,999. Gunwerks starts at $5750, however that doesn't include optics at that price.

Horizon Firearms is also building muzzleloaders. Just spoke with him and he told me about one long shot that a customer made with one. He said that pricing starts at around 4200.00.

Yep we are super fun to shoot a smoke pole that far. We will have a couple at DSC this year.
