Have any of you ever paired a semi-V hull with a surface drive mudmotor? I know that I can cause a “suction” in straight mud flats, but it’s not very often that I’m in mud only. With that being said I’ve owned 35hp Surface drives on mudmotor hulls, but I recently bought a 23hp refuge legal motor and looking to pair it with a boat. Just looking for input from those that have.

I have a excel f86 and it's what I would call a semi v. I've got a 55mag mud buddy surface drive. Flies like a snot rocket.

Most Excel F86's are not semi V hulls, they are a true flat bottom mud boat with a semi V front to break water. That is not the same as a semi V hull that I believe the OP is asking about..

That motor would pair well with a 16x48 Godevil boat for 2 people and gear. Godevil boats are cheap and made pretty well for what they are if your wanting to go the cheaper route but still a boat that will hold up.

I have an alumacraft waterfowler that I think would go perfect with that motor. I’m actually going to sell my long tail soon for a 23 hp surface drive. The boat is cheap as well. 2500 ish at academy. All welded, gun box and rigged with lights and switch panel and everything.
