They are the ghosts of the woods for sure! I had a big one over thanksgiving that I saw following two does through the thick woods, and they came out into the pasture, but he just disappeared. I knew exactly where he was, as I saw the movement stop there, but, even though he was just 80 yards from me, I could not find him, even with the binos. The does fed right in front of us for 15 minutes, and I was trying almost frantically to find him. The does were feeding towards a spot downwind of us, and I knew it was only a matter of minutes before they busted us. I never could find him, until the does blew and bolted. That is when he bolted, and sure enough, he had been standing right where I was looking the whole time.
