I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive night vision monocular that I can use to scan for pigs when night hunting with my Photon RT. Does anyone have experience with the Bushnell Equinox Z that they can report back on. I'm interested to know what kind of range it has, ability to identify game type, battery life, etc.

Someone just asked about this the other day and it seems like there were some comments here about it. From what I've seen it's pretty decent for the price, especially compared to some of the other models out there.
I believe the the best option is the Sightmark Signal 320RT. HansETX and I did a review of it on The Late Night Vision Show podcast a few weeks ago and we chose it as our best handheld under $1,000. It's really a nice unit and the built in IR is really powerful and you can see 200+ yards with it. It's extremely similar in image quality and range to the Photon RT.

Thanks Jason, I watched your's and Han's review of the Signal 320 RT and other handhelds. It was very informative. When do you think you'll have them back in stock?

The Bushnell Equinox Z is a pretty good unit I have had for several years. My area is pretty wooded, so my longest opening would be maybe 120 yds. It works well in this range - can't comment out past that with the built in IR. It has a rail to mount a different IR source. IR can bloom on close shrubbery / tall grass. Mine is better on batteries than my Photon 4.6.

They're in stock now. I just got a shipment of them in yesterday and I'm already shipping one out to a customer today.
