I want to get a pellet grill. There are many to choose from and a lot of reviews online. What kind do you have and why do you like it (does it hold temp, hopper size)? Would you buy it again or get a different make? Did you buy online or get it from a dealer? I'd like to stay under $1K but would go a little over if I really felt there was a big difference. Thanks!

Why didn't you like the Yoder? It's probably on the upper end of my limit $ wise.

I've had my Traeger for about 5 months now and I've only had one problem with it. The temperature it read was different from the grate temperature. Before I got a new computer system (I bought the Traeger used), it was a 60+ temperature difference between the temp inside the smoker vs the temperature on the grates. Since I got a new computer system, it's been working like a charm!

I have owned a RecTec 680 for a year now . Completely trouble free and holds the temp within 2 degrees . I also love the wifi controller and I know they have the best customer service in the industry if ever needed . Best grill / smoker purchase I ever made /
Also comes with a 6 year unconditional warranty .

The Traeger temp sensors aren't that great. We had issues with mine and they sent me a new one. Good news was the grill was getting up to temp it just didn't show it. I'll second the traegers, if nothing else for their customer service. It is top notch and they really work to make sure issues you are having are resolved. We love hours and it cooks great.

I have a Camp Chef Lux and love it. No problems after 2 years. Makes some really good brisket, ribs, chicken and pork tenderloin. They are all made in China.

I have the Yoder 640. Love it. I bought it with the competition cart which is super easy to move around. Built like a tank. Holds heat very well. Capable of much higher temps. Great accessories. Have not had to use the customer service, but on the Yoder FB page, everyone brags in the customer service. Built in the good ole USA. I could go on
