I hunt just west of town. With all the late rains its super green and our deer aren't really hitting corn either. After this freeze they should start hitting it hard. Also saw tons of bucks chasing last weekend.

westtexaswatkins hunts out that way.

The age class of bucks is mostly 1-4 year olds. There are a few older but they are few and far between because of previous dry years.

Pitchfork is dead on. I saw fewer deer this last weekend than any weekend in the last few years. So much green vegetation is my guess. They were hitting the feeders great before all the rain. Just give it a little time after this cold spell they will back to the feeders in no time.

We had deer moving everywhere for the last few years, but this year seems hit or miss. All of them needing a few more years. Hopefully things pick up for us soon.

My hunting partner and I hunted a new lease West of Aspermont all this week. Lots of signs of Deer moving in the night hours with a s few Young Bucks hitting the feeders. Our observation is the rut has not yet started.

I am going out this week to the Peacock / Aspermont area. Wanted to see if you guys are seeing any bucks chasing does still? I know its going to be warm so I plan on hunting over water in the afternoon / evening. Are the deer starting to hit feeders yet now that the green grass has started to turn?

I was out there this past weekend. It is picking up a little. All we are seeing is young deer on our place.

I will be up hunting in King County Dec. 6th thru 10th. We do it every year usually week before Christmas during secondary rut with my Uncle, cousins, dad, brother for a father son hunt. Thanks for providing some insight as to what you are seeing activity wise. Regardless we always have a great time but it is nice to hear that the bucks are still chasing does around. I may shoot you a PM as we get closer to the hunting week.
