He's a gnarly horned older WT and nothing more. I killed one similar on my place in Valera last year, he neat looking but not a Mulie cross.

If he is a cross he favor whitetail by a large majority. Tarsal gland size is the leading indicator of a cross.

What Bobo said. This is what the Game Wardens are going to use. A whitetail's gland is about ĺ" to an inch and the mule deer 4" or slightly more. I hunted on a number of places with both. Lake Allen Henry gives you a good lesson on it, they want you staring at that gland before you shoot either.

Hear that type of story every year and more than likely it's untrue and started by someone that doesn't really know what they are talking about.

Have seen mule deer during the drought and fires a few years ago one county over in Nolan. Watched a nice young 8 eat my corn several times but thereís no season for mulies in Nolan co. Saw 4 mature doe NE of Sweetwater. Havenít seen any in Taylor co yet and I have never seen a cross.

The buck in the pic looks like an old WT to me.

I have no doubt there are a few in Nolan county, used to see a few on 208 between Snyder and Clairmont often. Saw a couple north of Rotan on 70 a few weeks ago. In laws have land around spur and rare occasion see a mulie, not sure how far east they have made it.
