False. Aoudad is very good, just depends on how you prepare it just like anything else we eat.

Slow cook the good cuts, and have the rest turned into tamales

Ewes and young rams are very good. Get it quartered on ice ASAP, and age it for 3-5 days before you cut it up. Good stuff.

I think Aoudad ewe meat is just fine and agree with others that it's akin to whitetail venison. Shoot a young one, they're tender and the meat is great.

Cut the strap iinto thin medallions , season with your favorite spices, throw on open fire for about half a minute on each side.....you'll be looking for an aoudad ewe! flag
Enjoy your thanksgiving everyone

I have on several occasions had hunters believe they were eating barbecue beef when I served aoudad. Some bragged all weekend on it, and asked the outfitters why I would lie and tell them it was aoudad (after they left). The outfitters assured them i wasnt lying and theyd seen me quarter and cook it, but Im not sure they ever believe. Such is the effectiveness of the bulls#*t spread about aoudad.

Aoudad is the toughest meat on the planet (even ewes are tough). But that just means you brine it and cook it low and slow about 4 hours more than beef.
