dueling with android...
Been shooten black powder since 70's 44 revolver & 45 Kentucky. Sticking with goex (might be spelt wrong) & patch & ball. Hit consistantly clay-pigon size target 50-60yrds.
Recently purchased used 50cal in-line. Pard & i took em out ta old stompen grounds were we did our slinger fast-draw. Lots of lead slung at that gravel pit.
Put on a scope that came with me crossbow. Oh, rifle looked like it had never been cleaned when bought it, price was right, under $100.00 rifle, bullets, pelets, 209 primers. Took home gave good cleaning. Still looked like pitted.
Fired first round, hit left of bullseye, adjusted, still left, adjusted, edge of bullseye. All three were in line with bullseye.
Cleaned, adjust, it hit right, everythink went haywire. Never did get good grouping. Roughly 45-50yrds. Old age play roll, eyes not what used ta be. Shoulders were getten sore. But thinken cheap scope.
Later shot 410 smooth bore slug. First shot 30 yrds, second was 50 yards. 30 yrd hit tape. With rifling, it got its start with black powder, help with loading due ta powder resadue, easier loading between shots. With me 45, cap&ball could easy hit clay-pigon at that range.
Try down load pic of the 410 target.

Will give type rifle bullets pettets later, would like input from any familiar with make. Muzzleloader started last sat.

All i can see tis Conetticat Valley Arms...
Was using 250gr Spire point shockwave bullets. With 2 Tripple Se7en 50/50 pellets.
Bought some 200gr Spire point Shockwave bullets.
Have seen were different bullets vary. At that short range (50yrds) can do better with me old Kentucky ball&cap using coax powder.

Also had seen were the pellets dont store as well. Took hog several years back with my .45 kentucky with 44 pistal charge, bang forgot ta change messure on flask. Hog only went roughly 50yrds. Heart-lung. That was with coax powder bought 25+ years, closer ta 30yrs. Rifle barrelling was improvement over smooth bore.
