Jenna's trip.

After coming home and spending Thanksgiving with family Jenna decided to make the trip back to the lease with me after all banana She said she was keeping it a surprise grin

We got up the next morning and was in the stand about an hour before daylight and as soon as we got settled in I could see what looked like a black boar about 50 yards away from my South feeder. The hog stayed in the same spot and really never moved from that spot. I could only think it was probably eating the turkey carcass we had shot.

Feeders go off and I can see hogs at my bow feeder and the black boar I had been watching in the moonlight. I made the decision to take out the boar and got into position. I got on target and dropped him in his tracks. I quickly look at my bow feeder and could see a white hog still hanging around so I moved around and got into position to take a shot. Due to the first shot the hog was moving in and out of the feeder clearing. Finally it got under the feeder and I dropped it under the feeder. After a couple of minutes of looking to make sure the black boar was still down I look back under the feeder and no pig bang Jenna and I decide to get out and check out the boar first before looking for the other hog that was under the feeder and sure enough I had dropped it right next to the turkey carcass.

As we were walking to the boar we saw this large butterfly on the ground. I even picked it up and had it in my hand I am guessing because it was cold.

We found blood under the feeder and tracked blood for only about 10 yards before we lost it with no other signs. We searched several trails in the direction it was going but never found the other hog. It was still pretty early so we hopped back in the stand to see if anything else would show up.

Jenna and me killing time grin

We got back to camp and my brother and his step daughter showed up for the weekend as well. We finished up his ladder and headed to his new blind and got it installed and ready for the evening hunt. It still needs a good coat of paint rofl

We got settled in for the evening hunt after corning the road and around 20 deer around us IIRC that evening. Here is a pic of a group of some of them including a mature 6pt.

about 30 minutes before dark we had a sow with 4 piglets come into the feeder before feeding in the road. Jenna quickly explained to me that would could not shoot the momma pig because the piglets wouldn't have a momma to protect them so they got a pass grin

After the hunt we got back to camp and I grilled a jalapano/cream cheese stuffed backstrap grill food I overcooked it a tad but was still delicious.

The next morning Jenna was tired and I caught her snoozing rofl but she wouldn't admit it.

The next few hunts we saw plenty of deer due to corning the road but feeder activity is still pretty slow. The next night we battered up the breasts from the turkey and mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm they were good food
