My folks live at Holly Lake Ranch in Hawkins, TX..
They're overrun with whitetail deer. But this critter has been destroying the underside of their house. The house is up on piers, and there's 4-5' of space up front, and it slopes to 12" in the back. So my son set up a game camera last week, and these are the pics he got of the critter.
What say you???

I changed the contrast a bit and it does look like a Coati with a longer nose.

I always jokingly tell my wife anytime we hear something under the house that it is a coatimundi. And your folks actual have one. I have never seen one

Looks like a Coati and probably was a pet to someone that escaped.

I think it's just a fat cat. I can't even see a face on it in either pic due to the flash distortion.

It is a cat......the long nose is a white slat in the lattice but the focus makes it look like a part of the face.

The chin is dark and it is a house cat.

The most simple solution is usually the correct one. Quit trying to make it into some rare...weird....highly unlikely...animal way outside the home range.

Rear, left foot is white.

None of the Coati pics show a single white foot. Looks like some white on the abdomen, and face.

Just pointing that out.

I know of a wild coating that was living in Richardson. Not anywhere near it's normal range.

Spent a week in Rivera Maya recently. Looks like a coati to me.
Need a ringed tail to be for sure.

I agree with the Coati replies. Female looking to den up for the winter and have a brood. Big box trap should fix the problem.

Coatimundi are fairly common pets here in East Texas. This doesn't come close to looking like a cat. But I do agree with you that the simple solution is the correct one. My guess is that a neighbor lost it and it's hanging around a house because that's what it's used to.
