You talk about some hard working guides. Mike and Garrett and a new guy worked their tails off to get us the 13 cranes and one goose we got. The cranes acted right the 1st four of them and committed to the spread. Then as the wind and sun got up it slowed down. They were flying over us really high. Hundreds of them. Of all that committed to the spread I think only 2 escaped. Really had a great time and lots of laughs. Thanks guys!

And then the benefits! Mike told me to trim the silver skin and get the vein out. Did that and then added salt, pepper, and garlic, seared both sides 3 minutes each.... melted in my mouth. Truly tasted like a steak. If anyone kills these and doesn't want theirs. because they think they taste bad.... I'll take them all.

On the first hunt, since it was windy, i used 12 gauge with heavy x tungsten nr 2: birds where 20-50 yards out
On the hunt yesterday, on them geese, with no wind, birds where within 20-30 yards and i used 28 gauge nr 4 fast steel. On a hunt 3 years ago, on cranes with Mike, with no wind i used that same 28 gauge setup as well and tried to shoot em in the head.
