Search Franklin BBQ thanksgiving on YouTube. There are 3 videos of how he prepares and smokes turkey. I've done it 4-5 times and always get rave reviews even from diehard oven baked traditionalists. The butter at the end makes it special.

After reading about it here, I tried the Franklins BBQ method on a large breast and 3 wings. In the MES, turned out very well. Just the wife and I, so maybe next time I'll just do a bunch of legs. Thanks again THF.

I did a dry brine overnight, Spatchcocked it with a Meat Church seasoning. When you spatchcock them they arnt your traditional picture worthy turkey but they are pretty tasty. I saw that Frankins method and going to have to try it out soon. Didn’t get a pic of the whole bird, just happened to get this pic to send to a friend as I have had trouble in the past being able to keep the skin on when I slice.
