Rifle, ammo, optic and accessories all working together. Tikka CTR .308, Hornady Superformance SST 165 gr., Leupold VX5-HD 3-15 x 42 on Warne Mounts , Harris bipod, Triad Tactical cheek rest, Quake Claw sling. I have killed a pile of deer, coyotes and pigs. It's a hammer. I have the CDS dial from Leupold (which is only as good as the data you send them) that is dead on. On about 1/2 of my set ups I can use it and it has never failed. I've been buying this ammo for five years, 40-80 rounds per purchase and shot around 400 rounds through two different set ups and have found it to be true to published velocity. For killing animals, it does it very well. I adjusted the trigger on the Tikka down to my liking and this gun is stupid accurate. With the cheek rest and bipod I'm solid, confident every trigger pull.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
I'm gonna let my CTR in 6.5 CM 140 gr. Amax bark on a big mulie buck starting Friday. It's been sitting in the safe too long.
That bipod would do me no good in the country I hunt in. Shooting prone would be painful. I like a Safari Sling so I can carry my shooting sticks and have my hands free to glass but my rifle is always across my chest ready for setting up for a quick shot.
Hopefully I'll be showing off the rifle soon in the photo section if I can find the buck I"m looking for.

Good luck, hammer one. What glass you use on your CTR?

I'm looking for a CTR in 308, anyone know who has the best prices?
If you can pick up, Grabagun.com When you pick up at their location, no shipping and no FFL xfer fee. Their hours to pick up are a little stringent, M-F 9-5, very close to DFW. Their prices are the best I have found when picked up at their retail counter.
