I am not seeing many deer period. Example of how bad it is, at the end of last season on Jan 5, 2018 I had 70 deer sighting in the two hunts that day with 41 of those being bucks. From the beginning of the general season on Nov 3, 2018 to yesterday evening I have only had 46 total deer sightings with 30 of those sightings buck. With all the green from rains and acorns the deer are not coming to the corn or protein in the feed pens. I can road feed and have corn 2 or 3 days later still on the roads. I got my oats in and they are doing well, with the freeze last week I am seeing a few deer on them now.

Same for us. Numbers have been low. Its very green great conditions for the past month or two. I think we had a freeze last week/weekend so hopefully it will help some. We cut the feeders back, but they have been cleaning up whatever corn we put out in a day or so.

Our numbers are down also and I've been blaming all the rains. First time in years I couldn't get to the far side of our lease because we have a dry (most years) creek that runs through the middle of the property. Plenty of oats, peanut and acorns around for them to eat as well.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I am seeing a lot of Bucks. They have been running does for over 2 weeks now. The last few days they have really been after them. Yesterday I counted 4 different Bucks after does LF between here and town. And that is about 3 miles

No. Just the opposite for us. However, total deer sightings are way down this year from last, same reasons as stated above. Record rainfall. Bluebonnet plants are already up. Should be an awesome wildflower season.

X2 Same at my place also. We have a lot of bucks this year, At least four of them very legal but I keep letting them pass so they hopefully make it through until next year when they will be really nice.

how cold did it get up there? I have been trying to get into that little place down the road from you, but it's a swamp... un drivable. the good news is the place next door sold, so hopefully no more day hunting. Spending most of my time down at a new place between hebb and laredo this year.

I was not here those 2 days but think it was around 27 or 28 one morning. It froze a lot of grass, weeds and some brush. Rained again yesterday and last night.... about a half inch this time. Still really wet here.

We are seeing a ton of deer per sit. Most of the mature bucks are with doe, plenty of knot heads, and still missing a few good deer from our cameras. I think they are locked down too.

Any thoughts on the older deer being killed by predators at the end of last year's rut? I think I saw 20 different bucks last weekend and only 2 were 4.5 years old+ over 3 1/2 days of hunting in highly populated San Saba Cnty and this was when it was cold and bucks were moving and chasing/locked down with does

Even game camera pics don't show many mature bucks.

Coyote numbers appear to be a little higher than normal

The deer are coming to road corn, but it is more of a snack and go situation. They eat for 5-10 minutes and then they are on their way. Actual feeder activity is very slow.
