Many thanks to Don K for an awesome hunt. Ended up with a far better buck than I would've expected for the price. Don is a fine gentleman with a great operation. The cabin was more than adequate and comfortable, the stand was nice, and the deer abundant. My hunt didn't last long because I recognized this great deer early on and decided to take him. Saw multiple does and bucks before legal shooting time, then this buck came charging at me from 200 yards away...head down chasing a doe all the way. I had to decide quickly to take him and when he finally turned for a brief instant to cross a creek bed, I dropped him hard. It was an absolute blast in those few instants trying to make a decision, then trying to get in position and shoot quick enough. Worth every minute and dollar spent. Don weighed this one at 146 lbs. He lost a lot of blood so I'm calling him 150. Lol. Y'all better get in early next year...I know I'll be back. I did include some cool pictures from the view at the cabin of the sunset, to a fog covered valley Sat. morning, and the river near there. Thanks again Don for a great experience!
