Not normally one to post or share my experiences when it comes to rifles or optics but I had to this time.

Bought a Vortex Sparc AR red dot last year and took it to the range. Pulled caps off turrets and sat them on the bench and of course I went on to shoot a few more rifles and forgot my caps. Considered them lost and forgot about it.

Decided to call Vortex today and ask to buy some caps for my red dot finally. That annoying silver threading finally got to me. Talked to Ben (great guy) and told him what the deal was. Without hesitation he said he'd ship me a pair of caps at no cost to myself and thanked me for being a Vortex customer. I know the caps don't cost much but its the thought.

Glad to know there's still some good people and companies out there. Vortex will have my business going forward.

Funny you mention that. A few years ago I called every major scope manufacturer and told them the same story how I ran their scope over with a 4 wheeler. I rated their service based upon how long I was on hold, how many menus I had to go through and if they would fix the scope. Vortex scored the highest. Leupold got a C

I remember when you did that and your findings have sold many Vortex scopes for them when people ask me what scope to buy. I tell them about my experiences with their scopes and your post about customer service and next thing you know they own a Vortex just like me. I will never say they are the best scope out there, but their price point for what you get and how they stand behind it is second to none!

We had a Vortex Viper with a bullet hole through the objective bell, still worked.
Called customer service, they said send it back and they sent a new scope no charge.
Can't beat that!

Yeah Vortex is an awesome company and treats their customers well. I have a lot of their stuff and it’s all held up great through the years. They sent me a mount for free when I called to buy one a couple of years ago.

It’s a good thing their CS is so good because of all the warranty work they have to do.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Yah some folks got really butthurt over that write up.
I’m a Leupold fan myself but there warranty doesn’t cover abuse and is no better than most other scope manufacturers. The only manufacturers that will cover a bent tube is Vortex Pentax and NC Star. And leupold was the one I was on the phone with the longest I believe.

My Vortex has held up better than my Swarovski. Going to have to send my Swaro in at the end of the season because it has moisture residue on the inside of one of the lenses. Not what I would expect from a $1200 scope. Could have bought 4 of my Vipers for the cost of that little Swaro gem.

And my Vortex is the only optic I’ve ever had fail. They fixed it, no questions asked, but I don’t trust it, anymore. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Their warranty can’t be beat. I just wish it wasn’t needed so often.

I have never had a Vortex fail or had to return one for warranty repair but have only owned 9 scopes a couple red dots and have the Razor Spotter so limited experience compared to Leupold I have used over the years. Had One Leupold fail and CS was good and it was quickly repaired. Had a Zeiss Scope windage dial crap out and it took 6 months to get it back. My Swaros Bino’s broke and they fixed no issues and fast.

One of the better non biased write ups.

I do think Vortex has exceeded thier price point now though.

Ziess is a little better now, I sent a Vortex Razor bino’s(broke the parrelex knob) and 20 plus year old conquest 3.5x10x44 scope off at same time. Vortex had Bino’s fixed and back to me with in two weeks of delivery. Ziess had a replacement back in a little over a month I think. They did upgrade me to a 3-15 HD5. One discontinued scope for another, but none the less an upgrade. I was actually shocked on Ziess, I figured 6 months per previous issues. I will say I had to call three times to get through to approve the replacement scope though

Quite a while back I decided at the end of a deer season to buy some binos, I ended up trying Vortex. Bought and set aside. 6-8 months later I got them out and took them to the field to play with while filling feeders.

They were all jacked up, and I don't know why. I called Cabella's and they said I had them too long and had to contact Vortex. I called them and initially due to how long I had owned them they said I would have to pay the shipping, but then she changed her mind and said if I hadn't even used them yet she wouldn't charge me for shipping. They quickly (like within a week) had a replacement to me.

I still have them, I have since upgraded and given them to my daughter and she thinks they are great

I've experienced great customer service with them as well. I misplaced the sunshade for my Razor 4.5-27, sent them an email and a replacement is being shipped to me free of charge.
