Last week I was able to harvest this buck behind my house. I don't typically hunt my stand down there much but I keep my feeder going all the time. It is usually good for a decent buck and a few doe.

I have zero history with this deer. No pics and never seen it. I had been watching about 15 doe feeding out in front of me all morning. Finally about 8:40 I had a really nice 10 point show up to feed and bump doe around. He was an above average deer for this area but had broken his g3 on the left side. Missing three to four inches off that tine helped me hold off from shooting him. As I about had myself talked into shooting him anyway I got a nice surprise. This deer approached, ended up behind a mesquite, without me being able to get a clear look at him. He took off the opposite direction which left me wishing I could have seen all this deer had to offer. Next thing I know he ends up about 300 yards downwind in a opening and he is making a scrape. Once he finished he came on a string to the doe out in front of me. Needless to say the last thing on his mind has been the ruin of many men.

What I think is exceptionally neat about this buck is he tried to match all the way around. The splits on his 2's, the splits on the 3's, and even the growth with a couple of points on his right. You could see where it was broke off on the left. I don't know if he got some kind of larva or worms during velvet or what. I have been fortunate to take deer that would score much better but nothing as unique. Just wanted to share the story and a few pics. It was hard to find an angle that shows all this guy has to offer.
