Jury is still out on whether or not I’m pleased with the RF. I ranged a doe in bright sunlight, with sun at my back, at 570 yards. Later could not range a doe, looking toward the setting sun, at 500 yards, though I could range a tree next to her. I’m sure it’s better than my old Nikon 600, but maybe not a whole lot better. Time will tell.

Still no final opinion on this rangefinder, but I am not impressed so far. Sure wish I had bought the 2000 model or could swap for it. Grump grump grump...

I’m glad you posted this. I’m needing one and was watching one and all recommend this RF.

Yep, I fell for all the ra-ra on this RF. It was a mistake. Spend more money. Now I’m stuck with a brand new 400 yard RF that was bought to replace my old Nikon 600, which was good to only 400 yards. I’m actually a bit PO’d right now. I should have known better than to go with what looked like a bargain.

Now I have to wonder about the 2000 model.

I bought a vortex ranger 1800 a few months ago. I pretty restricted my search to vortex as they are the only ones that warranty range finders for more than a year or so.
The info says it will range reflective targets to 1800 yards and deer to 900. Im either going to have to get better at using it or find some elk/moose to range to get to 900 yards with it.

Now I have to wonder about the 2000 model. Today, the model 2200 ranged out to 1450 yards, in sunlight. Once the sun set, it hit a rock at 1820 yards.

Ranging a rock is information, but not particularly useful information. Useful, to me, is how far a deer, elk, moose, hog, or coyote was ranged. Except for elk and moose, that’s what I’ll be hunting.

Mailed the SigKilo 1250 back to Amazon and ordered the Leica CRF 2000B. I suppose I’m going from ‘underkill’ to ‘overkill’. Was going to buy the Leica 1000, but Euro Optic had the 2000B at almost the same price. All I want is to range a coyote to 500ish yards. You wouldn’t think that would be hard to do. I guess I have it covered now.
