Which ones have a decent factory trigger? I’ve shot a bunch and so far haven’t found one that’s the one. Keltec, kahr, Ruger lcp and lc9 old models, to name a few that I’ve tried. Shield was pretty good and so was the glock 42 I had. In the market for a dedicated carry gun but had long double action trigger. I don’t shoot them well.

Any suggestions before I just back to another shield or glock?

I could modify one but don’t want the potential issue down the road if I ever had to use it.

Walther ships a good trigger. The M1 version of the PPS is about as good as a carry nine gets.

The Kahr has an excellent long DA trigger which is good for cc but if that’s not for you you should look at some of the little 1911s. Sigs 238 or 938, kimber micro, etc. then you have safety’s to deal with. For CC I want a long smooth DA with no safety.

Walther PPQ or HK vp are the best. The others are still meh.
Sig 365 isn’t bad

I think the Kahrs are pretty horrible

The Ruger LCP 2 has a decent trigger. It's waaaay better than the original. The LC9s Pro has a great trigger. Probably the best factory trigger of all the small single stacks. I can't get used to the Kahr trigger.

I like the Berreta Storm compact carry. It is single, and double action. The first shot in double action is about like a glock, but after that it has a nice trigger similar to a rifle.

Kimber ultra carry 2, ruger officer, springfield emp, etc in the 1911 style. All striker/DA/SA guns are second place. I saw that you only listed plastic guns in your OP, but didn't say no 1911s, so, if a good trigger is your goal, a 1911 variant is what you are looking for

My STI Shadow probably has the best trigger of my carry guns. No modifications.

Try a CZ - all the way down to the little Rami, the trigger is light and very clean with a short reset.

The trigger in my Shield is pretty good, particularly after about 300 dry fires. I was surprised. You can also put the APEX kit in it, which I have in my full-size and it’s great.

Sig p938 is my carry gun and has an excellent trigger, and excellent sights from the factory. Very similar to the Kimber solo, they are both single action 1911 style pistols. The sig P238 is the 380 version if you want an even smaller gun, but I like the 9mm over the 380. With the extended mag you get 7+1 and has just enough room to get a full grip with all fingers.

The striker fired lc9 gets my vote.

Or Glock 19

If you haven't tried the Gen 5 Glocks I would check them out. The factory triggers are noticeably better than the previous generations.

Take a look at the Bersa BP9cc.

It has the best trigger I've ever had in a striker fired polymer gripped gun.

Single stack so it's easy to carry too. It is also inexpensive compared to many others.

Good luck.

So I’m confused, do you or do you not want a longer DA style trigger?

For a really nice striker fired gun that’s an improvement over a Glock or Shield, I think the H&K VP-9 is pretty damned nice. Great trigger and the grip options are nice.

For a really nice carry trigger that’s a bit longer but not as heavy as a DA/SA first pull, the H&K LEM trigger in the P-30 is pretty solid. It’s almost like a 2-stage rifle trigger, long take up with very little resistance then a clean break at the end similar to a striker fired trigger. This is one of my favorite triggers for practical carry guns.

Any of the super long double action triggers toes watch out and don’t worry it’s not going to hit you where I intended to. I can do pretty well with the shield and glocks but looking for other options as I am not loyal to any brand.

Performance center Shield has a better trigger than the regular model, and like mentioned above the LCP2 trigger is a lot better than the original.

My PC shield is around 4.5-5 lbs with a short take up and the LCP2 is right at 5.5 lbs with a pretty smooth pull. The PC Shield is better than the M&P 2.0 triggers.

I have to agree on the Shields. I have a lot of options in my safes, and usually end up strapping on a Shield as I like the size, they work reliably , trigger is acceptable, and they are accurate.

Same here, CZ-P-01. DA/SA decocker. All metal, but took off the fat rubber grips and put slim ones and is perfect for me.

Walther ppq, any 1911, any CZ. I like the CZ choice of double or single action.
